Seven is odd. Drop the S from SEVEN and you are left with EVEN.

1 to 10 adds up to 55. Taking away 6 leaves 49 = 7 × 7, and no other number from 1 to 10 lands on a perfect square.

Three days with two choices each gives 8 paths, but +2, +2, ×2 and ×2, ×2, +2 both end at $14, so there are only 7 different amounts: 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20 and 24.

Every glass reaches the same line, so the one whose object takes up the least space holds the most water. The straw is hollow, so only its thin plastic wall pushes water out.

Its label is wrong, so it holds only apples or only oranges, and one fruit tells you which. The other two labels then have only one way left to be wrong.

The straight parts run between coin centres: 4 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 12 cm. The four curved corners add up to one full coin edge, 2π ≈ 6.28 cm.

X already holds the two left squares of the top row, so the top-right square makes three in a row.

Up 20% takes $100 to $120. The 20% drop is taken from $120, which is $24, so the price ends at $96, not $100.

Folded around the square, the opposite faces are square–diamond, triangle–star and circle–X. B and D show opposite faces side by side, and in C the face to the right of the star would be the diamond, not the square.

603 rules out 6, 0 and 3, so the two right digits in 804 are 8 and 4. Clue 085 then puts 8 in the middle, so 4 is last, and clue 178 makes 7 the first digit.

With n coats there are n + 1 equal gaps, so (coats + 1) × (empty hooks per gap + 1) = 12. That allows 1, 2, 3 or 5 coats, with 5, 3, 2 or 1 empty hooks in each gap.

Turn the picture upside down and the spaces read 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91. The car is parked on 87.

The dot moves clockwise around the corners (top-left, top-right, bottom-right) and the star moves counterclockwise (bottom-left, bottom-right, top-right). Next the dot lands bottom-left and the star top-left.

Amy eats 1/2 on her first turn, and each later turn gives her 1/16 of what she ate the turn before. So she eats 1/2 ÷ (1 − 1/16) = 8/15. Ben, Cal and Dee get 4/15, 2/15 and 1/15.

√625 = 25, so the top is √(81 × 25) = 45. √81 = 9, so the bottom is √(625 × 9) = 75. And 45/75 = 3/5.

In a cross net, faces two apart in the long row end up opposite, and so do the top and bottom squares. In B, 2 is opposite 6 and 1 is opposite 5, which do not add up to 7. A, C and D all pair up to 7.

The top circle plus its neighbors make 10 and 7, so the top is 4 or 6. If it were 6, the right side would force a 4 twice. With 4 on top: left 6, right 3, bottom-right 2, bottom-middle 5, bottom-left 1. Every box checks out.

The third board gives 2 blue + 2 green = 14. Combining the other two boards gives red = 10, blue = 5, green = 2. The last board has 2 red, 2 blue and 3 green: 20 + 10 + 6 = 36.

Square each half and add: 3² + 4² = 25 and 5² + 6² = 61. So 2² + 8² = 4 + 64 = 68.

The time is in the gaps, not the strikes. 6 strikes have 5 gaps, so each gap is 1 second. 12 strikes have 11 gaps: 11 seconds.

They're the first letters of One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven. Next comes Eight.

The orchard is 8 × 6 = 48 trees. The inner block is 6 × 4 = 24, so the outer ring is also 24. 24 out of 48 = ½.

Subtract the squares: 5² − 3² = 16 and 7² − 2² = 45. So 6² − 4² = 36 − 16 = 20.

9 small ones, 3 medium ones (each made of 4 small triangles), and 1 big one around the whole shape. 9 + 3 + 1 = 13.

7, 3 and 8 are out. From 780, 0 is in but not last; from 206, it isn't in the middle, so 0 is first. 206 has two right digits, so 2 is in and 6 is out. In 682 the correct, well-placed digit must be 2, so 2 is last. From 614, 4 is in but not last, so it's in the middle.

The pipes to cups 2 and 4 are blocked. Cup 1 overflows into cup 3, but cup 3's pipe comes out of its bottom, so it drains straight into cup 5 before it can fill.

Every side adds up to 11: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11 and 2 + 3 + 6 = 11. So 4 + ? + 6 = 11, which makes ? = 1.
